Maureen Denise McCormick, the sole daughter of Richard McCormick Irene McCormick, was born in Woodland Hills California on 5 August 1956. Her father worked as an elementary school teacher, and her mother as mother at home. Michael Dennis Kevin, her two brothers older. McCormick started dancing and singing from a young age, and often performed puppet shows in front of the children from her neighborhood. When she won her first Baby Miss San Fernando Valley contest when she was 6 an old Pat Domigan called from Jack Wormser Agency to see if McCormick wanted to get into the world of entertainment. McCormick's first job as a professional was in 1964 which was when she appeared in a television commercial featuring Mattels new Baby Pattaburp doll. The following year she appeared in another commercial with the company's Chatty Cathy doll and was shortly cast in the musical Wind It Up And It is Broken in the La Jolla Playhouse. The Brady Bunch McCormick auditioned to play the youngest daughter of the trio of towheaded girls in The Brady Bunch. The show was a collaboration between Florence Henderson, Robert Reed as well as a brand new family. The show lasted for five years. McCormick's autobiography Heres the Story, Surviving Marcia Brady: Finding My True Voice was released in 2008. The book revealed the fact that McCormick nearly lost her virginity on sets of the show in the fifth season, when she was a victim to Barry Williams. In 2008, she revealed in her book, Here's the Truth: surviving Marcia Brady and Finding My True Voice that in season five on the show, she was close to losing her virginity to actor Barry Williams. She said that it would be possible, however we never had the right timing.
